JT has helped develop my aviation skills enormously from type conversion training to formation aerobatics and pylon racing. In between work and family needs I don’t have a great deal of time left of flying, so JT’s willingness and flexibility to meet me at my own airfield and train on my own aircraft at times that suit me is of great importance makes all the difference.
With a career of over 50 years as a professional solo or formation display pilot you will not find a more experienced, professional instructor for all things concerning light sport aviation, display flying and aerobatics up to the most advanced level. It has been my good fortune to fly with John for most of those 50 years. So as my big brother I have to grudgingly admit that, with all things considered, he’s not too bad.
That was one of the most enjoyable instructor renewals I have done and you are a natural instructor with more patience than you give yourself credit for!
I first came across JT when he was flying a spectacular duo with the legendary Brian Lecomber in a pair of Extras – sponsored by Microlease . . .
As my employers were regular customers of Microlease, I found out that Microlease offered their chosen customers “the flight of your life!” Brian and JT were so patient and knowledgeable in ferrying countless excited passengers on a taste of extreme aerobatics and I was lucky to enjoy many trips. JT became my “instructor” as he let me try vertical spins, loops and inverted departures – he has my heartfelt thanks and has truly earned the monicker ‘Sky God’ from those more qualified than I. Apart from that – he is a bloody good sailor (but a dedicated aerobatics pilot/instructor – he even cut short a sailing cruise with me to study the Extra 300 manuals in preparation for a forthcoming training contract!)
I also know John Taylor for several years. He is a really nice guy. I am very happy that we have someone like him at the ARC. He has a very important role which is being the Safety Director for the training camp as well for the races. We couldn’t have anyone better than him for the role. His voice is heard and well respected.
You are a star John. I knew there was a good reason to have you on board!! Thanks for your help …. appreciate your support in the red tape world.
JT helped me identify the right aircraft to buy and then the conversion to type. After more than 10 years, I consider it essential for me to fly with him regularly, not just to keep me sharp but to show me new areas of flying that I wouldn’t have known how to access such as competition aerobatics, formation, formation aerobatics and pylon racing. He knows everybody in European aviation and is always ready to make an introduction and suggest adventures. Every conversation with him is an aviation education.
